Great Great Great GRANDMA'S CHRISTMAS PUDDING

Ingredients
  • 370 g plain flour
  • 370 g plain flour
  • 500g currents.
  • 500g suet or butter
  • 500g brown sugar
  • 500g raisins
  • 500g chopped peel
  • 250g sultanas
  • 250 almonds
  • Little nutmeg and cinnamon
  • Decent pinch of salt
  • Grated lemon rind
  • 12 eggs
  • Half bottle of brandy
  • Extra Brandy for Christmas day
Instructions
  1. Put suet and flour into kitchen wiz and blend until looking like fine breadcrumbs.
  2. Mix fruit, lemon rind , cinnamon and nutmeg,breadcrumbs ,sugar and salt together.
  3. Add suet mixture.
  4. Beat eggs and add to fruit mixture.
  5. Lastly add brandy.
  6. Put into a wet calico cloth and tie with string.
  7. Dry tightly to stop water getting in,and boil for 6 hours. Hang pudding until dry and refrigerate until xmas.
  8. On Christmas day, boil pudding again for 2 more hours.
  9. Carefully remove from boiling water and place pudding on a big enough plate.
  10. Cut a hole in the top of the pudding (see pictures) carefully pour brandy on pudding and light the pudding.
  11. Preparing the pudding, on Christmas day, can be difficult and dangerous so please be careful.
