Hello SpringI Love / The Edit categories: I Love The Edit
Spring has sprung and I couldn’t be happier to get out of my winter woollies and ditch the heavy coats. With the seasonal transition, it seems like a perfect reason to shake up the wardrobe a little.
So what should we expect for Spring? It is an upbeat season ahead of us with a saturated colour palette on the cards (think scarlet, magenta and fuchsia to name a few).
There is strong scent of the 80s era present on the inspired runway designs. Of notable mention is also the mismatching approach which is shaking up the mix and match scene. There is an increasing popularity of the “anything goes” philosophy.
So what does this mean terms of must-have-piece? Now that spring has sprung, it is officially time to bring up the hemlines and take off those layers. Here are some of my favourite pieces to add some spring into your step. These are a few of my fav pieces inspired by the David Jones and Myer Spring Summer fashion shows.
Fresh and floral
What is more synonymous with Spring than pretty flowers and floral fabrics? Floral vibes have swept through every facet of the wardrobe these days from skirts, blouses, jackets, embodied bags and headpieces.
Girly girls, it is your time to shine. Pink—and lots of it— played a big starring show on the runway this year.
Turn up the brightness
You gotto do it bright baby! I am all about the statement bright colours, especially reds and yellows.
Time to get those toes looking fine again and get a pedicure if your feet have been neglected over these cooler months. Spring is a great time to purchase a pair of good sandals or heels because you’ll get extra wear of them before the summer months roll in.
I’ve recently spotted a sea of bold prints and geometric shapes (inventive combinations of diamonds, circles, hexagons, and more). Using the right patterns can result in seriously stylish outcome so I’ve picked up a few edgy pieces. You don’t need to choose to go geometric from head-to-toe look, you can simply incorporate a couple statement pieces into your ensemble.
