Make your workwear trendy againI Love / The Edit categories: I Love The Edit
Now that the Australia Day long weekend has come and gone, a lot of us are turning our gears back into ‘work mode’. I’ve culled my top pieces to get you excited about work mode. These street style must-haves won’t let you down!
Pick up your fashion A-game with a few new pieces and you’ll be the envy of everyone at work. The best bit? When it comes to your work ensemble, outfit repeating and mix and match is totally acceptable.
Invest in some new foot candy – a great pair of kicks will have you dancing around the office. These come in coral (if you are looking for a show stopper) and soft pink (if you need something for subtle)….
Mules have made a strong come back this season and these woven babies have a circular block heel (that is a YAS from me!).
The 50’s style shapes are back and better than ever. Can you believe this skirt is made from petrol and black and gold striped cotton-blend voile. The cut pulls you in at your waist before flaring out. I also love these white and black numbers for something uber chic for something summery and light.
There can be a fine line between edgy-cool and not work appropriate. I always opt for something which covers my shoulders and isn’t too super fitted (there is a time and place to show off those summer bods and work isn’t one of them for me). These tops all get the royal seal of approval from me.
Everyone working gal needs a perfectly tailored blazer. A good jacket is international fashion code for “I’ve got this!”. Don’t pick anything that will standout too much, a jacket should not look like a massive distraction when you are wearing it. slip a navy jacket like this on and you instantly feel more professional.
Do you have confidence for something a little more exotic… why not try velvet? This collarless design pushes the dressing boundaries and will be perfect to take you from the desk to that important client lunch.
Could this get any prettier? I’m in love and thinking pink with these pieces. Your work outfits do not need to be black and white boring drab these days! Inject some new colour palettes into your work-robe and mix up your Monday – Friday mode.
Last but not least, these pants marry style and sophistication. Sliding into them you immediately feel prim and proper. What is not to love about a flattering high waist?
Do you prefer to have a more nonchalant attitude to dressing at work? Try a few basic accessories to perk up your dressing mixed in with these new purchases.
